Bank of America customers shocked to see zero balance in accounts. Here’s what happened

Bank of America customers reportedly were unable to access their bank accounts for at least several hours on Wednesday. According to the website DownDetector, there were approximately 20,266 attacks reported during that time as of EST.

People are complaining that their balances are not showing up in the app, while others are saying they can access their accounts but are seeing a $0 balance.

—"Online banking is showing the app is not working yesterday," one user said on Down Detector.

—Both app and browser access to BoA were at least partially recorded, let alone "for us," another user said. "This has now been found for some of our accounts, but not all. Funds transfers are still not available for all accounts." Bank of America said in a statement to America late Wednesday that "these issues have been addressed and resolved."
